TRAINING
|
The
Sea Red Cross is a first response organization for accidents in the water
or related to it.
Because
of this, our trining system is based on two areas that must be perfectly
understood by the volunteers: Accidents and the Aquatic mean. |
The
training program on accidents consists on the first sanitary response,
and it corresponds to a theoretical and practical first aids course, complemented
by some practical experience as a technical auxiliary on an emergency ambulance
of Basic Life Support.
This
course is the first titulation on Emergencies and Assistances and qualifies
the volunteer as an Specialist on First Aids, which is the minimum compulsory
knowledge for all the volunteers in conection with the Accidents area.
Anyway, most of the crews usually feel that they need to get deeper into
the field and get involved in much more advanced courses, offered in the
Red Cross as well, and which provide them higher titulations.
In
conection with the aquatic mean, each future crew member must obtain any
of the sea related titulations, being able to chose between sanitarian
(Aquatic SOS, High Sea SOS), ship handeling (for each different kind),
or underwater related ones.
These
will allow the volunteers to perfom their preferred task (or tasks) as
crew members.
Appart
from this, the new crew members normally follow a constant training plan
that will provide them with knowledges about the methods and resources
normally used, with the aim of making them acquire good skills in order
to work on a possible risky operation. |
|
This
constant training is very important in order to reduce problems when facing
a real emergency, and all the members of the Sea Red Cross station of Arriluze
prepare and participate constantly on simulations and training sessions,
in order to be always as ready as possible for any kind of operation. |
